Why Choose ELCP at LCC??
Philosophy
At the ELCP, we believe that language learning is an integrated process. While classes are divided by language skill and level, efforts are made to integrate all skills in all classes. A communicative approach is used, encouraging participation and interaction between students and faculty. Since many of our students wish to pursue degrees at American colleges and universities, our curriculum is oriented toward helping students to acquire the skills necessary for success in college level courses.
Goals
- Provide intensive English instruction in a positive atmosphere and prepare international students for regular college courses.
- Provide customized English language and American culture instruction for interested groups.
*Note: Second-language students who are immigrants or refugees may want to consider English as a Second Language Courses offered by the Center for Transitional Learning.
