NCCE 200 Photo Safari: Tahquamenon Falls
Prerequisite: None
This four-day photo safari explores two of the most popular attractions in
Michigan's Upper Peninsula: Tahquamenon Falls and Whitefish Point. Early
autumn is a prime time for colorful images. Our headquarters will be the
Paradise Inn in Paradise Michigan. Visit their website for rates and
amenities. Book your lodging early to ensure a room. Daily trips to the
falls will give opportunities to photograph the tea-brown water and the
colorful forests glowing with red, orange and yellow. At Whitefish Point,
migrating birds and waterfowl provide aerial photo opportunities. At night,
great lake freighters glide like neon cities past the haunting wreck of the
Edmund Fitzgerald. We will also tour the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.
Students have the option of driving their own vehicle or riding an LCC bus
which will provide transportation to and from LCC East campus to Paradise
Michigan and the falls. Students are responsible for their own lodging and
food.
