Aid process is complex and takes time. Even in this day of advanced
technology, a student can expect processing to take 4-8 weeks or more depending
on individual circumstances. Please read the important information found
in this website, it will help you understand your rights and responsibilities.

Beware Financial Aid Scams
Some students have recently received a notice from the
COLLEGE FINANCIAL ADVISORY organization encouraging them to complete the CFA
profile form to apply for financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year. There is
a $49 fee to use their services.
The LCC Financial Aid Office wants to remind you that there is NO CHARGE to
apply for federal and state financial aid, as well as LCC Foundation
scholarships. There is also no charge to apply for 99% of the other sources of
financial aid available to students nationwide.
The COLLEGE FINANCIAL ADVISORY organization and other organizations and
companies like it, pledge to provide you with as many targeted financial aid
opportunities as possible. But their own fine print informs you that they cannot
guarantee results.
These companies cannot do anything more than you can do on your own, free of
charge. By using the information available to you on the Internet, you can
identify and apply for all types of financial aid funds. Try
www.fafsa.ed.gov and
www.finaid.org . These are great sources of
financial aid information.
The LCC financial aid staff is here to assist you with the processes to help you
pay for your college education – at no charge! Please call or visit our office
for assistance.
2008-2009 Michigan Nursing Scholarships
Applications are available for accepted nursing program students at the financial aid office front desk, or the LCC nursing program angel site. All application material must be received by our office by November 28, 2008. Final award determinations will be made by December 12, 2008.
2009-2010 LCC Scholarships
Applications are available to all current and prospe3ctive students. The application is available online at www.lcc.edu/scholarships, and printed versions of the application are located across campus including at the financial aid office front desk. The deadline to apply is January 30, 2009.
