Grants
Grants are "free" money that students do not have to pay back. The funds come from the U.S. Department of Education or Lansing Community College.
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is a need-based federal grant awarded to low and middle income undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor's or professional degree to promote access to postsecondary education. Students must meet financial aid eligibility requirements. Grant amounts are based on the student's expected family contribution (EFC) and enrollment status with a maximum award of $5550.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The FSEOG is a federal grant awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, meet the financial aid eligibility requirements, and qualify for a Federal Pell Grant. FSEOG funding is limited; therefore, priority is given to students who have the lowest EFC.
Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
The ACG is a federal-based grant for students who meet the rigorous secondary school program requirements determined by the federal government. First year ACG recipients (below 30 credits) are eligible to receive $750. Second year ACG recipients (30 - 60 credits) are eligible to receive $1,300. Applicants also must fulfill all requirements to be eligible.
Lansing Community College Grant (LCCG)
LCC Grant is an institutional grant awarded to students who demonstrate need and meet the financial aid eligibility requirements.
LCC Grant funding is limited; therefore, priority is given to students who have the highest need and who are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. Students must be enrolled at least half-time to receive these funds.
