The LibX toolbar is a browser add-on for Firefox and Internet Explorer that allows you to quickly search the LCC Library catalog and research databases from anywhere.
With the toolbar installed, a button will appear next to book titles on websites such as Amazon.com that will allow you to check if LCC Library has the item.
The LibX toolbar also has quicklinks to popular pages on the library website.
If Firefox displays a message "To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site... from installing software on your computer.", press the button labeled "Edit Options..." and click "Allow" to add libx.org to the list of websites from which extensions may be installed. Then click "Ok" and visit the "Install" link again.
To show or hide the toolbar, press the F9 key on your keyboard.
This beta version of the toolbar works for IE6 and IE7. It does not include all of the features available with Firefox. To install the toolbar, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 or higher installed on your computer.
To show or hide the toolbar, right-click the toolbar and then left-click the option for LibX.
Don't want another toolbar but would still like to check the library catalog for a book you found on Amazon? Try out our Library Lookup Bookmarklet instead. With a single click of the mouse, you can easily look up a book by its ISBN in our catalog.
This bookmarklet is piece of javascript code that looks for an ISBN number in the URL of a webpage. Websites like Barnes & Nobles (bn.com) have ISBN numbers in the URL of pages for books they sell. Just click on the bookmarklet in your web browser's Links/Bookmarks toolbar, and a new browser window opens with an LCC library search results page for the book's ISBN number.
