iPads

The library has 3 Apple iPad 2 tablets to check out to LCC faculty and staff to experience and explore touch screen based digital content.

Who can check out an iPad?

Current Lansing Community College faculty and staff may check out an iPad.

How do I reserve an iPad for checkout?

• To reserve an iPad send an email to Scott Skowronek providing the following information: Faculty name, department, faculty preferred email address, faculty active phone number
• Faculty will be placed on the waiting list. Library staff will check the waiting list each day.
• If you are the next person on the list, you will be contacted. You will have that day and until the close of the library the next day to check-out the iPad.
• Individuals who do not pick up their iPad within the time allotted will be moved to the end of the list.
• iPads will not be available for checkout on Sundays.

How long can I keep the iPad?

iPads are available for 168 hour checkout with no renewals.

What if I want to purchase content?

You may purchase content for the iPad from the Apple Store using your own Apple ID account.

All items purchased by the borrower are the sole responsibility of the borrower. The LCC Library cannot offer refunds for purchased materials. Purchased materials will remain on the iPad after check-in unless removed by the borrower before the iPad is returned.

Where do I return the iPad?

Please return the iPad to the Checkout Desk on the 2nd floor of the TLC building during library hours.

Do not return the iPad to either of the library drop boxes, as doing so can damage the iPad and will result in a fine of $15.00 being placed on your library account.

Purchasing Content

• - From the Home Screen, select "App Store"
• - Search for the app you would like or browse the Top Charts, Featured Apps or by category
• - When you have found the item you would like, select the price and then the "Buy App" option
• - You will be asked to enter your Apple ID. Choose the appropriate option and follow the on screen steps
