
Occupational Program Awards
Lansing Community College offers Occupational Program Awards to new, currently enrolled, or returning students who:
- Have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement
- Plan to complete a one-year certificate of completion or a two-year occupational degree at LCC (Curriculum in applied arts, applied science, and business, may be found at Applied Degrees and Certificates.)
- Whose primary objective in attending LCC is to seek education and the acquisition of skills needed to enter the work force or to advance in their current careers
The Occupational Program Award:
- Covers a maximum of five semesters over a period of two consecutive years
- Up to $1,035 in tuition and fees each fall and spring semester
- $365 for an optional summer semester (at least three approved credits required)
- Renewal each semester is contingent upon the recipient meeting all award requirements
An award recipient must:

Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

Be a high school graduate

Pursue an approved LCC occupational curriculum

Possess excellent academic ability in the area of study he/she proposes to pursue

Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.0 (new student) OR a cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0 (currently enrolled or returning student)
Selection is based on:
- grade point average
- ability in the selected area of study
- letters of reference, and a written personal statement
Award Renewal Requirements

Follow an approved LCC occupational curriculum.

Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher

Successfully complete at least six approved credits fall and spring semesters
