What is Higher One?
Higher One is an online bank that is partnering with
Please note: Higher One is NOT the same as the FACTS Payment
Plan, and activating your refund preference will NOT secure your seat in your
classes. For information about the FACTS Payment Plan, click

Who does this new refund program affect?
This program affects all students anticipating a refund
from LCC, including financial aid refunds and/or refunds for overpayments. All
students enrolling in classes for Spring 2010 and future semesters will receive
a Lansing CC debit card from Higher One.
(Please note that students under the age of 18 and students
with international addresses are not affected by this program and will not
receive Higher One cards.)
Where's my card?
An email will automatically be generated to your
LCC student email
account when a card is shipped from Higher One. If a card has already been
sent to you, you can check the status of your card by visiting
www.lansingccdebitcard.com and clicking the "Where's my card?" link.
What if my card was sent to the wrong address?
If your card was shipped to the wrong address, but you can
receive mail at that address, please attempt to locate the card. If the card is
undeliverable as addressed, the card will not be forwarded, and will be returned
to Higher One. If you have
updated your address with LCC, the college will automatically update Higher
One, and a new card will be shipped to your new address once the original card
has been returned in the mail.
What if my card due date has passed, and it still hasn't arrived?
If your card was sent to the correct address, but you have
not received it, check with other members of the household to see if they have
found any mail for you. If the card is still unaccounted for, you can contact
LCC's help desk at (517)483-5221 to report your lost card and have a new one
sent to you.

How do I get a new card if I lost of destroyed the original?
If you have lost or destroyed your card, you can contact
LCC's help desk at (517)483-5221 to have a new one sent to you.
What happens if I need a replacement card?
If you are an active card holder with Higher One you will be charged a $20 replacement fee by Higher One.
If you are an inactive card holder with Higher One you will be charged a $30 replacement fee by Lansing Community College.
How do I activate my refund preference?
To activate your refund preference, go to
www.lansingccdebitcard.com, and enter your card number to begin. Read and
follow all instructions carefully.
What are my options to receive refunds?
There are two options for receiving your student refunds
through Higher One:
-
Direct deposit to a Higher One checking account (by selecting the Easy Refund option and opening a OneAccount with Higher One), or
-
Direct deposit to another financial institution of your choice (by selecting ACH transfer and submitting the appropriate documentation to Higher One).
What if I'm having trouble activating my refund preference?
If you are unable to access the website to activate your
refund preference, call LCC's help desk at (517)483-5221. If you can
access the website, but are having trouble completing the activation process,
call Higher One Customer Support at (866)730-6599.
What happens if I never activate my refund preference through Higher One?
If you are eligible for a refund, but have not activated
your preference, LCC will still request a refund for you through Higher One.
Higher One will give you 21 days to activate your refund preference before a
paper check will be generated and mailed to you.
What types of refunds are handled through Higher One?
All student refunds for Spring 2010 and future semesters
will be issued through Higher One, including financial aid refunds, and refunds
for overpayments.
How do I know if I'm supposed to receive a refund?
A refund is generated if your financial aid and/or
out-of-pocket payments exceed the cost of your tuition and fees. Please be aware
that financial aid refunds can not be issued until the start date of the
semester. Refunds for overpayments begin generating 2 weeks after the start date
of the semester.
