Aviation Maintenance will continue at LCC
The program will move to Mason-Jewett Field in Mason, MI in Fall 2012 when LCC will launch an Aviation Maintenance Center of Excellence. Currently, LCC's Aviation Maintenance Technology program is located at Capitol Region International Airport, Lansing, Michigan.

What is an Aviation Maintenance Mechanic?
Aviation Maintenance Mechanics are trained to keep aircraft in peak operating condition by performing planned maintenance, troubleshooting problems, making repairs and completing inspections as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). All Aviation Maintenance Technicians are licensed with the FAA to perform airframe (structural) and Powerplant (engine) maintenance on all airplanes.
LCC offers the following Degrees and Certificates in Aviation Maintenance:
- Airframe Maintenance Technology Associate Degree
- Powerplant Maintenance Technology Associate Degree
- Basic (General) Aviation Technologies Certificate of Achievement
- Airframe Maintenance Technology Certificate of Completion
- Powerplant Maintenance Technology Certificate of Achievement

Lansing Community College designated as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-Certificated Part 147 Aviation Maintenance School. Upon completion of our two-year program, you will attain the required training necessary to take the FAA Knowledge Examinations and Oral/Practical Examinations for licensing by the FAA. In addition, Lansing Community College has an articulation agreement with Western Michigan University whereby you can use your LCC Aviation Maintenance credits towards a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance at WMU. Our program provides the successful student with three completion certificates
and two associate degrees in aviation maintenance technology. Additionally, we
prepare our students to secure the federal airframe and powerplant certificates,
necessary to be able to work on aircraft and get those good paying jobs. The
outlook for LCC Aviation Program graduates is bright with salaries ranging from
$43,000 to $74,000. Demand in this field is expected to increase by 18% in the
next twelve years, and a federal airframe and powerplant license is a ticket to
a job within the aviation industry at hundreds of locations throughout the
